A psalm of David
Show me the path where I should walk, O Lord;
point out the right road for me to follow .
Lead me by your truth and teach me,
for you are the God who saves me.
All day long I put my hope in you.
The Lord says,
“I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.
I will advise you and watch over you.”
“Seek His will in all you do and He will direct your path.”
The words I’VE BEEN THERE express empathy – as if to say, “I know how you feel” or “I am trying to imagine your struggle”.
The cross is at the starting point of the path and represents the pain and suffering Christ experienced – His death – His victory over death through His resurrection – His ascension into Heaven.
The footprints represent you and me as we journey through life on the winding path where we experience pain and suffering – highs and lows – unpredictable twists and turns – where mistakes are made – lessons are learned – wisdom is gained. So when we encounter others in the midst of their storm, we can have compassion and understanding and say “I’VE BEEN THERE”.
The dark blue on either side of the path represents temptation that often lures us off track and into darkness and sin which leads to loneliness, hopelessness and despair.
At some point in our lives we come to realize that the footprints are actually those of our Savior as He carries us through our troubled times in life. It is at that point the words I’VE BEEN THERE take on a deeper meaning. It is then that we begin to understand that no matter what pain or suffering we may be experiencing, Christ has endured more because He has “BEEN THERE”. He empathizes with us more than anyone and understands our every hurt. When we come to this realization, we begin to comprehend that we’re sharing this journey towards eternity with him.
The sunburst represents the hope we have in Christ. It illuminates our way so we can stay on the right path that leads to eternity.
So when you see the logo with the words I’VE BEEN THERE, imagine those words as coming from Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior and know that you can trust Him to carry you when you have lost your way and you can trust Him to be faithful to the end.
This is when we experience the peace that passes all understanding.
